We need an MCP server

Premise: An internal service exposes GET /status and POST /restart.

  1. Taylor: “We need an MCP server.” Taylor has already opened a new repository.
  2. Riley: “It’s an API.” The API has two endpoints and excellent documentation.
  3. Taylor: “Exactly. Now the agents can discover it.” The demo is annoyingly good.
  4. Morgan: “Which agents can call restart?” Current answer: three agents, two humans and another MCP server.

Observed behavior: Interoperability works. This is sometimes the problem.

Cast: Taylor Kim — The AI Native — “Give it to an agent.”; Riley Novak — The Minimalist — “Postgres, HTTP, cron.”; Morgan Reed — The Threat Model — “Who can do what to whom?”
