💡 WHY ALEX IS RIGHT
Internal code accumulates special cases because every caller sits two desks away and can be asked to adapt. Publishing removes that luxury: outside users bring use cases nobody here imagined, and each one exposes an assumption baked into the design. A tool that survives contact with strangers usually ends up with a cleaner API, explicit configuration and real extension points. Open source is the most honest design review a team can get, and the reviewers work for free.
